I’ve been trying to get more into red lipsticks this year, but still find myself struggling to wear them due to their bold colouring. Plus, as they fade throughout the day, there’s a really obvious contrast between red lipstick and my natural lip colour (unlike a nude pink lipstick).
In May, ColourPop turned three, and celebrated in typical ColourPop fashion – lots of promotions and a few limited edition releases including the “I want a pony” birthday bag, and their birthday eyeshadow.
Sephora’s 20% off sale was a sign for me to splurge and purchase the one brow product everyone raves about…so I’m now the proud owner of the Brow Wiz! It’s a staple in every makeup junkie’s stash, but for its $38 AUD price tag, it’s still a real investment for a girl like myself.
A year ago, bitter.lace.beauty created the first ever rainbow highlighter. Everyone got swept up in the madness, including myself! I even tried to create my own rainbow highlighter. Fast forward to 2017, and brands everywhere have jumped on this trend, including Models Prefer.
I picked up Bestie from ColourPop’s Ultra GLossy line, as I’ve fallen back in lov with glosses. My favourite is Anastasia Beverly Hills, but with a $31 AUD price tag, I needed to try a cheaper option (and one that’s cruelty-free).
Bestie is described as being a creme mid-tone pink, however does look lighter on ColourPop’s website. The description on their website is accurate though.
The gloss glides on beautifully, and doesn’t feel sticky or too heavy on the lips. I found this to have good pigmentation, with one swipe providing almost opaque coverage.
I also think this would make for a nice topper on other nudey-pink shades, especially over liquid lipsticks.
When ColourPop’s next free shipping promo comes around, what should I try next, or better yet, what are you going to try? Let me know in the comments below!
While adding ColourPop glosses to my shopping cart, I decided to pop an Ultra Metallic in to test out. I didn’t realise just how metallic this formula is though!
I can confidently say I own most unique highlighter shades, including pinks, purples and a blue. I’ve now finally got the last “unique” shade I feel there is to get – green!
